Study of the Spreading of DPPC in Different Concentrations Applying Optic Techniques of Dynamic Speckle
Abstract
The lung surfactant is a compound that guarantees the reduction of the surface tension in the lung alveoli. The development of artificial surfactant of the lung requires achieving a concentration of its main component, dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC), that facilitates its spreading in the surface of alveolar liquid. In this paper a microscopic study using dynamical speckle and digital prosecution of images of spreading of portions of DPPC deposited in a surface of similar composition of the alveolar liquid is presented.
